II Corinthians 8 Reflection
The grace of God can be made known through giving. Giving is a testimony of God's grace. Giving to others is giving oneself to God first and then the will to give others becomes a repurcussion of our first love to God. A refinement of one's love to God is the result of the diligence of other believers to show grace to one another. Christ showed grace by becoming poor so that through His poverty christians can be come rich. There IS equality in the body of christ.
The abundance of one supplies the lack of another and vice versa. There are even some in the body of Christ who are even more diligent in their giving to others, because of their love for the gospel. The grace of God is such an evidence of the love of God. There is not much boasting in the body of Christ except for about God and the work that belivers have done for Christ, including and especially giving.
We love because, God loved us first.
Jesus is my first true love.
Giving is an example of the righteousness of Christ imputated to the believer evidenced through the power of the Holy Spirit, within sanctification. In justification God sowed the righteousness of Christ and reaped the fruit of the Spirit in sanctification.
